About Me

After apprenticing for four years under a cabinet maker, i began to take interest in tools and functional items.  I was never able to find a blade that fit me perfectly.  Around five years ago, i started experimenting with bars of mild steel and an angle grinder, and an addiction was formed.  I progressed to using old files, bench grinders, even converting my wood lathe into a full time grinder to increase my capabilities.  During this time, my skills were constantly changing, developing, and growing.

Later on i began hot forming steel, and it is an ever growing favorite of mine.  Watching steel act as a plastic under a hammer is incredible, especially using that state of matter to create a useful tool and piece of art.  Simple forged pieces other than blades are available upon request. I take pride in creating precise, clean, and efficient designs.  Each knife is purpose-designed with specific grinds, blade shape, handle length, materials, and finishes.

Custom pieces are some of my favorite challenges, designing a blade for a specific use or task.  When a custom piece is commissioned, i'll contact you to find your desired uses, materials, styles, even the environments the blade will see.  I believe each blade should achieve its maximum performance and durability possible.  Custom work is quite limited and is taken on a case-by-case basis.  Most of my knives are made to my design and listed here once they are finished.

With the above said, i do place limitations.  I prefer to be making functional, artistic tools.  I will not make "fantasy" type blades, no non-durable finishes (paint, topical dyes, rainbow blades, etc.), or overly bulky and useless blades.

I currently only ship within the USA, and it is always free, but i can arrange shipment methods for any US military members stationed out-of-country (may have a small charge).
